Indent House

Located in Johannesburg’s central business district (CBD), the existing building sits empty with a fully occupied ground floor filled with retail activity. We were approached to be part of a team of professionals tasked with giving the old retail and office building repurposed look and feel. The brief was to look at an adaptive reuse design that meant converting the upper office levels into social housing units. The façade redesign responds to the local context, paying homage to international trends in mixed-use architecture offering a contemporary architectural style with simple forms and contemporary interiors.
